| Big Meadow Brook Outfitters East Kemptville, Nova Scotia Canada Big Meadow has been in business for 12 years. They are located in South Western Nova Scotia approximately 45 minutes from the ferry terminal in Yarmouth. They are the only licensed lodge in this area. Their lodge consists of 5 bedrooms, 3 baths, large kitchen and living room combined, with an additional common room. Their prices include your 3 meals, accommodations, guides and transportation to and from your hunting sites. Towels and linens are also provided. Black Bear Hunts The population of black bears in Nova Scotia is roughly between 8-10 thousand. Only approximately 500 licences are sold in Nova Scotia each year, with an average of 200-250 animals harvested yearly. With this small amount of pressure most animals are able to reach maturity and die of old age. Our season runs from the second Monday of September to the first week in December. We only book between 16-20 hunters per year. September till first of October are the best weeks, with the dark of the moon making the best success rate. We cater to all types of hunters including Archery, Black Powder, Shotgun and Rifle. Price is $1250, which includes your bear license, lodging, meals and a 6 day hunt.
