Hunting Tips by Joe Tucker
"Deer hunting in urban environments is not for
everyone.", states Joe Tucker owning partner of
WhiteTail Solutions "Hunting in urban settings requires
one to adapt, as the deer do, to your surroundings and
pushes the hunter to be on top of their game in literally
peoples' backyards"...positioning of treestands are very
important...shots are extremely critical to harvest the
deer in the shortest period of time and distance.
Although many home owners are becoming more
educated on the affects of deer over-population building
relationships with the home owner and their neighbors is
one of the keys to urban hunting success.

We are pleased to offer the following urban hunting tips:
Tip #1
Treestands and Feeders (if applicable in your state as management tools) should be
setup in late July early August or as early as the home owner allows to ensure that the
dee in the area get used to the new additions to their living room.
Tip #2
Set up trail cameras along major trail intersections. Look for areas where three or four
trails converge and set up cameras opposite one another to learn the time and direction
of travel patterns. If using a feeder set on up there as well to see what time the deer are
frequenting this location.
Tip #3
If using a feeder, we have several recommendations based upon our years of experience.
We highly recommend rotary type feeders that are controlled with pinned (RD Type
Feeder Controls) which allow you to control exactly the time the feeder dispenses,
frequency and how much feed to dispense. This allows you to train urban deer herds to
your schedule
